Why Choose a Local Independent Garage Over a Main Dealer for Servicing?

A common myth is that you have to use a main dealer to keep your car's warranty valid or to get a 'proper' service. In reality, an independent garage can offer the same quality of work, often for significantly less.

Your warranty is protected by law

Under UK and EU consumer protection rules, manufacturers cannot void your warranty simply because you used an independent garage for servicing, provided the work is carried out to the manufacturer's specified standards using appropriate parts.

Lower prices, same expertise

Independent garages typically have lower overheads than main dealerships, which usually translates into more competitive labour rates and parts pricing, without cutting corners on the work itself.

More personal service

At a smaller, local garage, you're more likely to deal with the same familiar faces each visit, get straightforward explanations rather than sales pitches, and have more flexibility around appointments and walk-ins.
